Byzantine and post-Byzantine music series

Series of very well-made videos showing aspects of Byzantine history through manuscript illustrations, with Byzantine folk music as background.

Hi, I’d like to note that the background music is not Byzantine, but post-byzantine Greek folk music (demotika). The first is a lament for the capture of Constantinople, the third is about Kleftes, groups of resistance during the Ottoman occupation.

Note also, for the first video, that its title is stolen from the Discovery channel documentary “Byzantium, The Lost Empire“.

Thanks for the information. I changed the post title.
